About the Summit

The I-Lead Call to Action Youth Summit is a student-led initiative hosted by the I-Lead Student Advisory Board of the Mobile Area Education Foundation. This year’s summit is centered around our core pillar:

“We need a community that prepares us for the future of our dreams.”

The event is designed to empower and uplift high school students across Mobile County by providing them with the tools, connections, and inspiration to take charge of their futures—whether that path leads to college, a career, or another journey.

In addition to this primary focus on future readiness, the summit will also explore three other key pillars identified by youth as essential for their success: belonging at school, mental health, and safe community spaces. These pillars will be woven into the day’s experience to show how they directly support and strengthen students’ ability to plan and prepare for the future they envision.

Event Goals

Inspire Post-High School Confidence

This event aims to help students gain clarity and confidence about their future by exposing them to resources, ideas, and real-life paths beyond high school—whether that includes college, trade programs, or workforce opportunities. Through meaningful sessions and peer engagement, students will leave feeling more certain about their next steps.

Understand Youth Perspectives on the Future

The summit seeks to create space for honest conversations where students can express how they currently feel about their futures. By listening to their experiences, concerns, and hopes, we aim to better understand the needs of today’s youth and use that insight to shape more responsive support systems in our community.

From Uncertainty to Action

This event will equip students with actionable advice, resources, and guidance to help them take real steps toward their goals. Whether it’s through breakout sessions, mentorship, or peer discussions, the summit will offer students tangible solutions they can apply as they prepare for life beyond high school.
