I-Lead Youth
I-Lead Youth is a student-led impact strategy bringing together a diverse group of youth from local public and private high schools. The goal of I-Lead is to empower local youth to identify both the challenges and opportunities of living in our local community – including the topics of public safety, education, workforce readiness, and quality of life.
Students from Mobile-area public, private, and parochial schools contribute their perspectives on critical issues facing Mobile’s youth through a variety of meetings and round-table discussions every year. These conversations equip youth attendees with the leadership and communication skills needed to elevate youth voice, and they engage the broader community across Mobile County in meaningful solutions.
The I-Lead Student Advisory Board, a group of juniors and seniors from area schools, support the ongoing events, meetings, and projects of I-Lead Youth . The Student Advisory Board look forward to launching a series of community action projects based on the ideas and priorities outlined in our Youth Call to Action (to be released late spring 2024) with the support of community leaders.

Raina Gupta
My Name is Raina and I am a freshman at St. Luke’s Episcopal School where I have gone my entire life. At St. Luke’s I participate in chapel band, Key Club, SGA, Student Ambassador program, Scholars Bowl, and the robotics program. I have also had a passion for dance and piano since a very young age because they allow me to express myself in ways other than words. In addition, I enjoy volunteering at Dance Without Limits and Feeding the Gulf Coast. I am excited to join the I-Lead board and can’t wait to see what this year will bring!
Leon Pham
As a Junior at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, I proudly serve as a class representative, channeling my passion for leadership and community involvement. I actively volunteer with various organizations including Friends of Exceptional Children and Future Medical Leaders. My commitment to making a difference extends to my roles in the classroom as an AP Scholar. Beyond my academic and extracurricular pursuits, I am honored to be a member of the Mobile Area Education Foundation Student Advisory Board. This role allows me to give back to my community while advocating for the success of my peers. My strong leadership and communication skills enable me to effectively collaborate with others and drive positive change within the organization. With a dedication to service and a vision for a brighter future, I strive to make meaningful contributions both within my school and the wider community.
Jenna Simpson
I am Jenna Simpson. I am a freshman and I have gone to St. Luke’s Episcopal School all my life. I have always had an interest in coding, because I am able to design and control someone or something and be creative. I have also done cheer and gymnastics since I was little and that has helped me become responsible, independent, and ready for the future. I am so excited to bring my ideas to the I-Lead group using what I have learned through my extracurriculars, friends, and family!
